Short Bio
Elaine Washington Vigne born and raised "Baby Boomer" in New Orleans, Louisiana. She grew up in Government Public row housing. Her father a World War ll veteran. Mother a factory working sewing piece work as a pocket taper on Military men uniforms shirts. She began earning art awards in elementary school. She was born an artist her Father gifted her first graphite set from Shanghai, China when she was only six years old. Today she lives as a full time artist integrating her studies which includes a Bachelor's in Psychology with a concentration in Art, and a Master's in Museum Studies. When she is not recycling plastic. Her time is spent in her sewing studio creating more unique fashion statement head wraps.
Statement
I was born into a rich culture filed with natural beauty, I grew up with a deep appreciation for all art man-made or god made the environment and the myriad ways it could be protected and preserved. My early exposure to nature's wonders laid the foundation for my exciting future endeavors. The turning point came during the college years, where I majored in Psychology with a concentration in Fine Arts. It was here that I began experimenting with recycled materials, paper mache transforming discarded items into striking sculptures and captivating installations. My artwork, characterized by its innovative use of materials and its poignant commentary on consumer culture, quickly garnered attention.
Biography
She continues to evolve as it relates to the Arts. As a graphic artist, poet, and acting is one of her latest endeavors. She hopes to inspire future artist as she leaves her art opened ended.
